“Balkan Networking for Social Empowerment of South-Eastern Europe”
Keynote addresses were delivered by Bill Clinton, founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United States, Igor Lukšic, Prime Minister of the Government of Montenegro and Duško Kneževic, President of Atlas Group.
"Balkan Networking for Social Empowerment of South-Eastern Europe" agenda reflected the issues at the core of regional concerns, considered necessary to intensify democratic and economic reform processes in the Balkan countries. It included discussion sessions on the promotion of new ideas and shared values, social empowerment, knowledge sharing, and implementation of cross-border public-private partnerships.
The main goal of this event was to address pressing challenges facing South-Eastern Europe through developing cross-border and new models of cross-sector cooperation. The idea of establishing public-private networks and cross-border models of sustainable social empowerment in the region is increasing the cooperation between leaders of the countries in the region and their business communities, yet there is no single forum focused on this broad and ever more complex agenda. This Conference provided a venue for the regional community to address these pressing issues. By bringing together distinguished political figures, leaders from business and non-profit sectors, state officials, academics, media members and former high officials from the countries of the South-Eastern Europe, "Balkan Networking for Social Empowerment of South-Eastern Europe" helped to shape a new agenda that can adapt to changing realities and offer solutions for important common issues. Participants established new connections, shared insights and ideas, and developed partnerships that will enhance their work in order to build more efficient, innovative and sustainable models of cooperation in South-Eastern Europe.
